Power BI Developer / BI Analyst
Location: Pasadena, CA (Hybrid: Onsite 2-3 days per week)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Pay Rate: Up to $75/hour
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer / BI Analyst to join a growing team responsible for delivering data-driven insights and enterprise business intelligence solutions. This role will focus on designing, developing, and optimizing reporting, analytics, and data integration solutions using Microsoft technologies, including Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, and Power Automate.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that support business objectives and decision-making.
- Build, manage, and optimize data pipelines to ensure reliable and efficient data movement from multiple sources into Azure Synapse data environments.
- Develop and implement data integration solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Synapse.
- Create and maintain scalable data models, datasets, and reporting solutions within Power BI.
- Automate business and data processes using Power Automate to improve operational efficiency.
- Partner with business stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and deliver impactful analytics solutions.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
- Enhance and optimize existing BI solutions to improve performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Administer and support BI platforms, tools, and reporting environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI-related issues while providing ongoing technical support.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance across all reporting and analytics solutions.
- Stay current with emerging Microsoft BI technologies and best practices to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or BI Development with a strong emphasis on Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, relational databases, and advanced SQL development.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, data migration, and data integration projects.
- Hands-on experience creating impactful visualizations and applying data visualization best practices.
- Strong proficiency with SQL and data query optimization techniques.
- Proven experience working with large datasets and improving data processing performance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and Power Automate.
- Working knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and advanced Power BI data modeling techniques.
- Experience designing modern cloud-based data and analytics solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
- Additional certifications related to Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Azure, or Microsoft data platforms are a plus.
